Home of what was once a prosperous racing community, Lone Oak has seen its share of experiences. Stables, race tracks, strip malls, and even a college campus littered the landscape. Humans were at the top of the hierarchy, equines used only for the fame and fortune that their hard work and dedication brought. The human race prospered, and they believed that their reign would never come to an end.Hundreds of years passed, and the human race continued to engorge themselves on the fruits of equine labor. Discontent grew among the equine race, but when they protested they were simply sent off and never seen again. So they quieted themselves, meeting secretly to pray to the goddess Epona for salvation. Little did they know, their time was rapidly approaching. One bright, warm day in April, disaster struck. The sky turned black, and the winds began to bow the trees to the soil. The humans brushed it off, believing it to be another storm that would come to pass. The horses, however, knew. Those that were training threw their riders, jumping from the tracks. Those in stalls beat the doors down until they gave way to freedom. Those in the pastures broke the fences. The humans struggled to control the growing unrest of their ‘subordinates’ to no avail.
Heavy rains began to fall from the heavens, thoroughly soaking the ground. The rivers began to rise, the lakes began to overflow, and the oceans began to creep up the shorelines. Now, the beginnings of a mass panic began to overtake the human race. They began to shout, to run, but it was no use. Soon the floods rushed over their homes, over their stables, their cars, the tracks, their malls, until there was nothing left. Eventually, the floods washed even them away.
What happened to the equines, you ask? A leader sprang from the chaos: Hathor. He led the equines to safety, leading them into the mountains. Many died, but a few remained, and this is the next generation. Once the flood waters receded, nothing was left. The buildings, cars, and humans were all gone, taken away by the flood. Hathor led the herd down into the new land. Now he is working to keep the land safe, overseeing the reconstruction and re-population of his kingdom.
